Demystifying Writing: Strategies for Developing Better Writing

Students are often afraid of writing tasks, regardless whether they in their own native language or second writers. I share examples my experiences and struggles, then argue how can be demystifi ed, offering some strategies towards advancing one’s skills: understanding writing, doing free identifying weaknesses, practicing enormously, visualizing purpose audience, revising articulating writer’s voice, obtaining feedback, reflecting on embracing mimesis approach. discuss the drawing ideas from renowned theorists, including Elbow (1998), Harris (2006), Vilardi Chang (2009), Adler-Kassner Wardle (2016), etc. This paper is particularly relevant to early career ELT teachers understand demystify student process; however, it might also helpful for any academic level students advance writing.
